Before we adopted our rescue Lurchers Bree and Skippy they were both believed to be outdoor dogs. Bree in particular was spent some time living wild and it shows as she is a silent dog, freezes at the sight of anything worth chasing and a total thief of anything she can steal. She also has a panchants for a plant called 'Sticky Willy' in the UK which she adores. However, we have never seen her hunt and eat Crane Flies before, especially as she is extremely well fed as is skippy. This is really interesting to watch as we had no idea what she was doing to start with.
I hope you like and share the videos and check out my other Skippy and Bree videos and all my technical tips.

My Sight Hound Demanding After Breakfast Cuddles, Massage And Tea ASMR
My wife says I spoil our dogs and this is Bree. It may be true but I think a lot of it is down to the clever doggie manipulation from the hundreds of thousands of years Homo Sapiens and dogs have been cohabiting. If you look into the eyes of a Wolf there is just death and it seeing you as a food source there is no emotion in their eyes, looking back. But pet dogs have developed eye muscles and facial muscles not dissimilar from our our, and they have become genetically predispose to use them to manipulate us. Take my sight hound Lurcher (Greyhound Saluki Cross) Bree, she won me over with her eyes and the help me Human Baby style whimper the first time I met her. She also has a bag of other psychological weapons, I mean look at those eyes and that please help me look. Now Bree or I have developed a morning routine, I get up make my breakfast then make theirs, then share the remainder of my Rice Krispies with Bree and Skippy, then let them out and then reward them when they come in with an extra recent reward for Clean Feet (letting us clean them). Then I take my cup of tea into the living room with the dogs to watch some 'Curse of Oak Island' or 'How Its Made'. Its at this point things get more interesting as Bree goes from being docile to being in charge and starts demanding cuddles, strokes and a massage. Now everybody knows that Dogs Can't Talk but I think Bree really does make similar sounds and noises when she wants to make herself understood, see what you think. I have not manipulated Bree's sound but I have been a bit adventurous with my interpretation of what she says, but some of the time she's vocalising or should I sat talking, I think its pretty obvious the meaning if not the words.
Don't be tempted to quit at the start it gets progressively better as she gets progressively more demanding and forceful, and refuses to let me off the hook.
So dogs owners have your amazing dogs manipulated you into such routines?
Do you stand firm against them? or melt like ice cream on a hot day LOL
I hope you like the video, and you find it as de-stressing and relaxing as Bree and I.

Does Your Dog Love Goose Grass AKA Sticky Willy?
My amazing rescue sight hound BREE is a Lurcher: A Saluki Greyhound Cross. She is loyal, inquisitive, intelligent, caring (she prompts me when my blood sugar goes low) and great to walk but she has a dark secret,
BREE is addicted to SALAD
and no matter how hard we try and what route we try to take to rid her off this habit she always brings us forcefully to one of her local Salad Snack Bars
The thing is she only likes the finest cleanest shoots, she won\t touch any that dogs have scented. Whats odd is that Slippy our Tri-Paw Lurcher won't touch the stuff. I even try eating some of it to see what it tastes like, and not only is it very bitter, akin to an astringent but the leaves have incredibly tiny hooks or bards on them that sticks it to you tongue and throat. But BREE is not deterred and come rain or high water she's out on the hunt for her Salad.
My question to other dog owners, is your dog addicted to? :
Sticky Willy
Goose Grass
Cleavers
Clivers
Galium Aparine
History also has is that it was used to pack sacks as a mattress.

Skippy And Bree My Lurcher Friends
We watched a UK SuperVET programme recently where a had major surgery on their dogs damaged leg, despite being informed there was a high likelihood of it failing and serious infection, rather than have the leg amputated. It went ahead and the poor dog went through weeks of infection and pain and the vet offered to remove the leg saying the dog would survive and be happy on three legs. But I was stunned! as the owner of a very happy 3 legged dog (they call them Tri-Paw or Try-Pad) that they owners asked for the dog to be put down rather than having the leg amputated and the dog living. Their reasoning was that they didn't think their dog would be happy on 3 legs.
This is a list of videos of my two beautiful rescue Lurchers (Saluki Greyhound Cross) and as you can see from the videos they are both happy, loving, devoted, bouncy, mischievous and fast. One Skippy has three legs and the other Bree has four legs. Please Please believe me it makes no difference to the dog as long as they have loving and caring friends and get charge around they are happy.
Please share this and make it viral so more dog owners don't make the mistake of thinking that having only 3 legs is sufficient reason to give them a death sentence.
Perhaps if more dog lovers see these videos they will understand and not put their best dog friend though hell
Thank you to all who watch and share these videos and help me help other dogs with damaged legs live a long and worthwhile life.

Two Lurcher Greyhounds And A Cocker Spaniel Chasing In Virgin Snow
This video is about Two Lurcher Greyhounds And A Cocker Spaniel Chasing In Virgin Snow
This was Skippy's third outing in the virgin snow in a day, having never experienced it before. He went from strength to strength despite his disability from only having 1 back leg. He raced around trying to catch his house mate Bree the beautiful Grey Lurcher.
My two Lurchers are 50% Greyhound/Saluki crosses.
SHARE if you remember chasing through the snow whit no thoughts of what lay beneath it and loved it.
SHARE if you'd be happy to adopt and disabled dog or bitch.

This video is about 3D SBS My Dog Skippy In The Dog House
After creating mayhem I had to muzzle skippy whilst I got on with the job at hand of putting out the recycling and trash. But despite the muzzle he manage some cunning stealing and eating, But he couldn't dispose of the evidence. Its in 3D because that was the camera to hand when I was laughing at his cunning and skills.

My Flying Greyhound Lurchers
Having purchased my first 2nd user digital SLR and Nikon 5100 I decided I'd give it a go shooting Bree and Skippy running at full pelt around a Norfolk Beach.
Lurchers are fast, very fast, and both our rescue dogs are Lurchers and are a cross between Saluki and Greyhound. They are sleek and swift.
Lurchers like Greyhounds are on of the few dogs that spends more time flying through the air, with all feet off the ground when running, than with its feet on the ground. They are so fast that they are even able to achieve this feat on wet sandy beeches as you can see in the picture below.
I'm really thankful that the Nikon 5100 was fast enough to capture this even with the 55-200 lens. Do any of you notice something different about Skippy in the background? If you have already seen Skippy please don't comment as I'm interested in viewers perceptions of what they think they see to what they can actually see.
I also made a video on my iPhone as they were flying around the beach chasing each other.
I hope you like the pictures, please comment and I'll post some more pictures.

Three Legged Greyhound Lurcher Racing On A Walcott Beach
We took Skippy and Bree to Norfolk UK with us for a run on the Walcott beach, as you can see they absolutely loved it, and despite having 3 legs Skippy was not deterred in chasing down Bree. It's amazing how quick he goes and that losing the back leg has had little effect on his agility and speed. #fixed1tRESCUEdogs

Three Legged Lurcher Skippy Gaining Weight And Muscle Nicely
I think I'd forgotten how thin and weak Skippy was when he first came to us as Prince.
He'd been in foster care for over 6 months with a pack of larger Greyhounds and although he'd been well cared for he wasn't getting enough exercise and stimulation for him to grow.
Its been quite a struggle to find the right combination of food for him that will not upset his stomach and bowels but will allow him to put on weight. Here is a picture of him shortly after we invited him into our home:
Perhaps his rippling front legs and shoulders that's doing it ;-)
And such a great little runner:

Now his ribs are barely visible and he seems to have grown into his boney face.
As for his relationship with Bree they are inseparable:

Disabled Hound Skippy Racing 4 Legged Bree
We took our 3 legged rescue dog 'Skippy' on a local rescue hound Play Group exercise walk with Bree and lots of other Greyhounds, Lurchers and Wippets. One of the owners has a Paddock so before the walk we let Bree and Skippy in to go mad, they are so good together and so fast. To think if he hadn't have been rescued they'd have put him down down to his awful injuries, but he's a very lucky and happy dog.

Bree Recovering Well
Bree is recovering well from her collision with the corner of our paving stone step near the garage, the hole, op and the stitches. Skippy our tripod rescue Lurcher with his missing back leg and she are forever chasing each other around and wrestling ( it's a greyhound, saluki and lurcher thing). They also like necking each other and tripping each other up by grabbing each other's legs. Unfortunately the speed they can move and maneouvor at, means it can result in injury if they get caught at the wrong time i.e. Going up steps.
When they aren't chasing around sounding like an attacking ferocious dogs but not leaving a mark, they spend their time wrapping themselves around each other and us. In fact their play fighting reminds me of the Saturday Wrestling Matches that used to be on UK TV on Saturdays when I was a kid, all play acting bluster and aggression with the winner decided in advance ;-)

latest antics
No sooner have I posted this video but he's been at it again. What gets me is his cunning, tonight I was about the let our other rescue dog Bree out for last night ablutions, when he barged past, so I let him out, being new we've had the occasional accident. He came back quickly and I took Bree out, she is more lady like and takes her time to select a spot. When I brought Bree in I heard a rustling, and found he'd pushed aside a heavy trolley to get to a counter and stole a packet of Quaver chips of a high shelf, torn the packet open and was eating them. If I didn't know better I'd say he planned it ;-) or am I anthropomorphising things LOL #fixed1tRESCUEdogs

My Recue Dog Skippy And The Mysterious Back Pack Raid
This video is about My Recue Dog Skippy And The Mysterious Back Pack Raid
Skippy is a LURCHER a Greyhound/Saluki Cross around 11 months old, he was mistreated and thrown out of a moving vehicle and hit by a car. This resulted in his Left Back Leg being amputated. We met him on his first ever walk and decided to take him home for a trial. We love him and he likes sparing and racing with our other 3 year old rescue lurcher Bree. He is into everything, but as I discovered you can't leave him near even hidden food for a second.
He is sweet and really cheeky as you'll see.

Newly Adopted Rescue Hound Having A Celebration Of His Own
Its official, we've adopted another rescue dog I've called Skippy, he was formally known as Prince, but as he has 3 legs and bounces along happily like Skippy The Kangaroo I've renamed him. So just like the mischievous Skippy, you won't believe how he chose to celebrate the event LOL

Even Inspector Jacques Clouseau Could Solve My Dog Bree's Latest Crime
Whilst I was out watching and videoing Debbies participation in the Rock Chorus Choir charity concert, Bree decided to do some sniffing around for food and treats. This is a common condition for Rescue Dogs, but she not too good at hiding the evidence of her antics. But we love her anyway.

They say a boys best friend is his dog and for Oliver my dog Bree dotes on him. I hadn't realised quite how strong the bond of loyalty was until today, when Oliver made the conscious decision to take the Rap for one of Bree's misdemeanours.
